Denim jeans are a wardrobe staple for most of us but finding the right shape and style to suit your body shape can be tricky. This season, denim styles are available in shirts, dresses, jackets and bags so if jeans style trousers are not your thing, there are many other ways to style your look with denim.

Straight cut denim jeans worn with shoes or boots in the same colour tone can make you look taller and slimmer and accentuate your height. A darker colour wash worn with a jacket gives a smarter, classic look.

Mom style jeans suit all and are a comfortable style with a higher waist and a looser fit over the hips and tummy area. They suit feminine curvier body shapes and give a defined waist shape.

Cuffed jeans and cropped styles show off footwear and slim ankles and are perfect for summer time style. Jeans with side stripe details are a great way to give an illusion of longer legs.

Denim shirt style dresses will work for most body shapes if you choose a lighter weight of denim with some flow rather than a heavy weight material.

You can find a lot more denim jackets now that are more stretchy and tailored to allow for more comfort and movement. Look out too for styles in a varied colour palette of rose pink, mint or tie-dye effect for a creative look. Choose a jacket style that suits your proportions best whether that is a cropped or a longer line blazer style. To discover more about your personal style find out about my Style Consultations.
